Puerto Rico | La Isla Verde, Old San Juan

Puerto Rico is the place to go if you’re looking for a quick, easy trip to a tropical destination (without the hassle of customs)!  As our plane was descending into Puerto Rico, there were big, dark gray clouds as far as you could see and the rain was coming down heavy.  What perfect weather for a quick, beach vacation.  We walked everywhere in the rain, and it was actually really fun!  It reminded me of the Bachelor episode where Ben and his date wondered around the streets of San Juan and kissed romantically under an overhang…except Nick and I didn’t do that.  We walked to the closest bar from our hotel (hello, vacation)!!   We sat on the most relaxing patio at Alambique and watched the rain fall on the beach, with Puerto Rican rum and ginger ale.

The next day, the clouds parted and for the remainder of our 4 day trip, the sun was shining and we felt the true Puerto Rican weather.  It was hot and humid, yet breezy enough to never feel too warm.   We visited El Yunque Rainforest, the forts in Old San Juan, ran and tanned on the beach, and rented a car to explore around the island.  The pictures tell a much better story than I can :)
