Lydia and Anthony are Engaged! Atlantic Station Engagement Session

I was so excited when Lydia emailed me asking to do their engagement shoot in Atlantic Station. I love Atlantic Station! Something about the city in the backdrop and the bazillion photo-ops around the center. Pretty sure we could have walked around for hours and captured hundreds of pictures…I guess we did that anyway :) Meet Lydia and Anthony: Their wedding is only a couple of weeks away at the Vinings Club. Can’t wait!

Cristina and Alex are Married | Wedding at The Strand Theatre on Marietta Square

You know it’s going to be a perfect day when the weather forecast calls for thunder and lighting, and you literally get a clear, blue sky with a bright sun (and when you get married on a night where the super moon is closest to earth in nearly 20 years!! There are so many wonderful things I could say about Cristina and Alex. Hanging out with Cristina all day was like being around one of my good friends! She is such a beautiful person, inside and out. The wedding day started at the Hilton Marietta Hotel & Conference Center, where the bridesmaids and groomsmen got ready. Before the ceremony, Cristina and Alex arranged to do a first look, and it was perfect!

After their intimate wedding ceremony at the Strand, all of the friends and family went to the top floor to enjoy and celebrate their marriage. There was a nice windy breeze up on the rooftop, complemented with nice cocktails and Christina’s signature bride-o-rita.

Isn’t her jacket so cute? I love it. One of my favorite groomsmen shots :)Waiting to see his beautiful bride.

Love their flowers! Ranunculus are so classic and timeless.Romance under the trees :) I love how soft and sweet they are.

Jon and Whitney are Married | Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art

Jon and Whitney were married at Eastwood Baptist Church in Marietta. It was a beautiful, sunny day. Whitney started off getting ready at home, with all her bridesmaids. They all had matching shirts with their initials embroidered. :)She was smiling all day :)One of my favorite getting dressed shots! I just love the pure moment and excitement of a bride putting her wedding dress on!
They exchanged cards, without peeking at each other…I love this one.And, for their first look in the church sanctuary: This was THE moment that Jon turned around! Their expressions are the perfect representation of how excited and happy they were. Whitney was a stunning bride, and Jon was quite the handsome groom!After their first look, we wandered outside for some amazing bride and groom shots. There were so many trees (thankfully, a lot of shade too). It made for the perfect background.The bridesmaids wore the most beautiful coral dresses and had rose bouquets with little pops of green. They photographed so bright and pretty, especially against all the dark, green trees.All of Whitney’s bridesmaids were gorgeous! Oh, just whispering sweet nothings…Whitney, you are so beautiful!!
Their church was so beautiful – I really like the composition of this ceremony picture. She was so cute – taking pictures throughout the ceremony as well!After the ceremony, we were off to the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art. It was the perfect combination of history and romance, located right on the Marietta Square. Inside the venue were huge ceilings with crown molding, a spiraled, wooden staircase, and wood floors throughout…all decorated with beautiful flowers. It was so perfect.And for the most beautiful light and pictures of the day! Even if you do a “first look” earlier in the day, I always suggest setting aside just 10-15 more minutes in the afternoon for a few more pictures. The lighting is amazing, and it’s the perfect time to enjoy a little bit of togetherness as true newlyweds before heading into the reception. AND, you can pictures like this…It’s just 10 more minutes :) Jon, Whitney and I walked down to the Marietta Square for these – my favorites!Love, love, love!!Some of the beautiful architecture inside…just gorgeous.Even their wedding cake was a beautiful piece of art, on display like the rest of the gallery.The father/daughter and mother/son dances :) One of the cutest ring bearers – look at that smile!One of the cute flower girls :) She was dancing!
I’m pretty sure they were singing an N’Sync song! It was the best.
One of the best departure’s we’ve seen! Jon and Whitney left in a horse and carriage! The horses were so big and beautiful!

Hooray for a feature! Jenn & Jesse’s gorgeous wedding at Little Gardens was published on WellWed Magazine’s blog today, and I’m super excited to share it :)I love groomsmen suits that are khaki, grey, or similar shades. Complement that with a soft, dandelion yellow and a dark, navy blue and you have a beautiful color palette! Their details were all so lovely and simple, and their detail pictures really bring everything together.

Congrats again, Jenn & Jesse! Your wedding was beautiful!

Marcy and Chris are Engaged! Engagement Session in Acworth

I have been so eager to post Marcy & Chris’ engagement session! When people are super excited and can’t wait to see their pictures, then I am a bazillion more times (than normal) excited to share the pictures with them. Meet Marcy & Chris! They were so fun and great to work with. Chris had us laughing the entire time, and it made for some pretty great moments and pictures.

And, up first…one of my favorites :)I love these!Another favorite :)Marcy, you are GORGEOUS!! I have way too many favorites from this session. I just love how they look at each other.Marcy and Chris, I absolutely cannot wait for wedding this Fall. Just imagine all the “amazing” pictures we’ll have ;)

Jennifer & Matt are Married | Wedding at Kimball Hall, Roswell

Jennifer and Matt were married at Kimball Hall, right in downtown Roswell. It’s located right off Mimosa Boulevard, meaning that it’s in the heart of historic Roswell, and is the perfect blend of history and romance. Not to mention, the street is blooming with flowers and those trees that form a tunnel over the road.

Their ceremony was absolutely beautiful. It was in the backyard, behind Kimball Hall and the sun was shining down as they said, “I do.” We wandered all around the property, stopping to take pictures in between the rose bushes. Jennifer was pretty brave to walk right in the middle of them, but I think it was worth it :)

Jennifer and Matt made their grand entrance into the Kimball Hall ballroom and celebrated the night away with friends and family.

This was the cutest entrance I’ve seen! He was sprinting as fast as his little legs would take him down the aisle. That expression emits pure joy! But, that was short lived; he came to an abrupt stop a few feet in front of the altar, dropped to the ground, and let out a good cry. Everyone couldn’t help but to laugh, including myself :)And, here comes the bride! Walking her down the aisle is her beautiful mother. I wonder what he whispered in her ear?My favorites :)All the beautiful reception details! Lovely shades of blue, grey, green, and yellow. The soft details were the perfect combination to this historic and grand reception.If you could see her rhythm…she had moves!! Like, serious moves! And, she knew all the words to every song (event the oldies)! The flower girl was pretty entertaining…I think Matt & Jennifer’s expressions are pretty telling of how awesome her moves are!Before their departure, we walked outside for a few night shots. Photographers, this was shot at 8,000 ISO! I had to test the D3s (just got it!), and it definitely exceeded my expectations!

And, you can watch their slideshow below. If you’re wondering why it is embedded this time…I made a special slideshow this time and needed to upload it to Vimeo. The new camera has HD video capabilities…so, I tested it a bit, and added a few to their slideshow. It’s like a super slideshow! I think Jennifer & Matt will be pleasantly surprised. It was fun.

I was looking through my Favorite Quotes board on Pinterest this morning and thought, “It would be so cool to put my favorite quotes to my favorite pictures!” To be honest, my first thought was, “Wow, I’m actually looking through my Pinterest!” In any case, I was perusing my favorite quotes and felt inspired to place it on an image that corresponded well with it. I think I’m going to start doing this weekly…

DO MORE OF WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY.

For me, this means taking more pictures and traveling as much as I can.

I can go on forever about all the things that make me happy, but those were the 2 things that came to mind first.

This picture was taken from the Santa Monica Pier, in California. When I look at this picture, I’m reminded of good friend we visited here, good friends we traveled with, and China (as this was the night before we left to go there).

The Kelly Moore Bag | B-Hobo

I love my Kelly Moore, B-Hobo bag. I’ve written a review on it before, but was recently inspired to post an update on just how amazing it is. I saw a post on their facebook page asking fans to post a picture of themselves wearing it. And, it made me think about all the places I have taken it (and really pushed its limits). Through airport security, packed bus & taxi rides, snow, rain, and sand…my B-Hobo bag is still going strong.

It is the BEST bag to travel with.

From Puerto Rico, the Forbidden City in China, the London Eye, the Great Wall of China, Myrtle Beach, Prince Edward Island (seeing Will + Kate), Nova Scotia, and Atlanta (of course!).
